SUMMARY:Manitoba Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Manitoba Day at Mennonite Heritage Village! \n\n\n\nMay 9 from 9:00am to 5:00pm ~ FREE ADMISSION! \n\n\n\nJoin us as we celebrate Manitoba’s birthday with a day full of activities\, history\, and community fun! This special event will feature a flag-raising ceremony\, free birthday cake\, and more! \n\n\n\nExperience Spring at MHV! Take a scenic walk around the pond. Enjoy delicious Mennonite cuisine at the Livery Barn Restaurant. Visit the General Store and try some old-fashioned candy. \n\n\n\nWhy We Celebrate\n\n\n\nThe Manitoba Act of 1870 created the province\, paving the way for new communities to form. Just a few years later\, in 1873\, the Privilgium was extended to Mennonites in Imperial Russia\, inviting them to settle in Manitoba. By 1874\, families arrived at the East Reserve\, establishing what would become Steinbach. \n\n\n\nCome celebrate with us! \n
