Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mennonites arriving in Manitoba this summer on August Long Weekend. Experience the life of the early Mennonites in Manitoba at our Pioneer Days festival! Witness pioneer demonstrations, steam-powered threshing, live music, and lots of good food as we share the stories of Manitoba Mennonite beginnings.
Enjoy pioneer demonstrations, including: Baking bread in the Outdoor Oven, Milling wheat in the Windmill, Blacksmithing, Ropemaking, Printing at the Print Shop, Steam-powered activities, Sawmill, and much more! Visit the artisans in the General Store, Shop at the Village Books & Gifts in Village Centre, or Check out the Old-Fashioned Candy at the Candy Booth. Explore your family history with our experts in the Village Centre, and enjoy Horse Drawn Wagon rides and children’s activities, including the barrel train!

Join us for a Renactment of a Red River Cart journey – Saturday, August 3rd at 11am (shuttle leaves at 10:30am to join cart journey).
Experience the World Premiere of the first chapter of Where the Cottonwoods Grow, a film about the Mennonite arrival 150 years ago, by Dale Hildebrand.

Mennonite Arrival Reenactment Journery & Storytelling at the Red River Cart at 11:00 am (route begins near Integrity Ventures, 1.5 mi north of MHV on access road). If you would like to walk alongside the cart, please pre-pay admission and take a shuttle from the Village Centre, leaving at 10:30am.
