The Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV), located in Steinbach, MB, is an interpretive centre and open-air museum whose mission is to relate the story of the Russian Mennonites and their settlement in Manitoba. The museum has a collection of over 16,000 artefacts, more than 30 buildings and historical features on a 40-acre site, as well as two indoor galleries and numerous display areas. Our Livery Barn Restaurant provides an authentic ethnic culinary experience for MHV guests. MHV Food Services is hiring for a variety of seasonal positions, including food prep, dishwasher, servers, cooks, and bakers. Please specify which position(s) you are interested in. Must be willing to do some weekends, and holidays and be available for caterings when needed.

Position Title: Food Services (various positions)

Reports To: Food Services Manager

Position Type: Seasonal/Full Time

Term Dates: April 20, 2026 – October 2, 2026 (or as arranged)

Hours of Work: 25-35 hours per week, restaurant hours 11am – 4pm, catering in the evenings

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • Training in food safety (Food Handler Certified or willing to take the course if required)
  • Training in customer service an asset (dealing with customers in a friendly and helpful manner)

Experience:

  • Restaurant experience an asset

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of and a commitment to Mennonite ethnic cuisine an asset
  • An organized and systematic approach to work
  • Must be able to multitask and help wherever needed
